Ethical Considerations of Chatgpt Integration in High School Education
The integration of ChatGPT in high school education raises significant ethical concerns from the students' perspective. This study explores these concerns by surveying final-year students in Croatia over a two-year period, focusing on how perceptions evolve regarding academic integrity, educational quality, institutional preparedness, and the role of human creativity. Using a structured questionnaire, the research identified three dominant trends: increasing skepticism about schools' readiness for AI, rising concern about AI's impact on learning, and declining belief in AI's potential to replace human intelligence. A statistical predictive model was applied to project future shifts in attitudes, revealing intensifying ethical concerns through 2029. While the model offers useful insights for anticipating trends, it also illustrates the limitations of predictive analytics in complex educational environments shaped by numerous unquantifiable variables. The findings underscore the need for student-centered policies, continued monitoring, and further interdisciplinary research to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI in secondary education.
