Environmental Management in Electrotechnical Products Manufacturing Process

Electronic waste (e-waste) represents an escalating global environmental issue due to the presence of hazardous substances including lead, mercury, and cadmium. The ISO 14001 standard provides a systematic framework for environmental management, allowing organisations to minimise their ecological impact via resource optimisation, waste reduction, and sustainable process management. The implementation of these norms in electrotechnical manufacturing processes contributes to sustainable development by increasing product lifespans, facilitating repairs, and decreasing energy consumption. The critical phases of the product life cycle - pre-production, production, and post-production - are aligned with the standard's criteria to mitigate environmental and health risks. This article emphasises critical elements such material recycling, reduction of carbon footprint, and the implementation of sustainable technologies. Ultimately, it underscores the significance of education, the enhancement of recycling capabilities, and the promotion of ecologically sustainable activities as vital instruments for addressing the issues of ewaste and its effects on ecosystems.
