ProcureMate: An ERP System for Procurement and Management of Laboratory

ProcureMate is a software system made for improving the procurement and management of equipment, in labs through an ERP setup. Conventional approaches usually entail tasks which make it difficult to access information efficiently and handle inventory and transparency issues effectively. Dealing with tasks like retrieving data on stock items or managing approval letters and tax invoices on a lab by lab basis can be quite burdensome without a tracking mechanism, in place leading to misplacement of items. ProcureMate tackles these challenges by providing a user web based platform that centralizes these operations making them easier to manage. The system has access control to allow approved personnel to make changes, to the information. Has a built in notification system using Google Mail to keep Heads of Departments (HoDs) Heads of Procurement (HoPs) updated on any developments. The handover section is specifically designated for recording all item transfers while the platform organizes stock information by lab. Our research shows that ProcureMate greatly enhances accuracy in inventory control and increases efficiency in laboratory operations. This ERP solution offers institutions an transparent system, for managing laboratory procurement and equipment.
