Infectious bursal disease of birds. Analysis of causes, methods of control and prevention
This paper presents research related to infectious bursal disease, its causes, symptoms and methods of prevention. The aspects of etiology and pathogenesis of Gamboro virus studied in the course of the study show that this disease has a devastating effect on the immune system of birds, which leads to their vulnerability to other infectious agents. The use of modern vaccines contributes to the formation of immune defence in birds, which significantly reduces morbidity and mortality. The results obtained show the importance of a properly organised vaccination process and its regular improvement, the result of which will lead to a significant improvement in the epizootic situation on farms where cases of the disease are observed. In addition to vaccination, biosecurity measures such as strict control of sanitary and hygienic regime, maintenance of optimal microclimate parameters and balanced nutrition significantly increase the immune defence of birds against virus of any virulence. The data obtained in the course of the study indicate that an integrated approach combining vaccination and management of housing conditions is the most effective method of ensuring the health of poultry stock and increasing the efficiency of poultry production.
