The purpose of this research was to Examining forest fires-related issues raised in school textbooks of basic education. Were analyzed the textbooks of Natural Science of basic education using the method of qualitative and quantitative content analysis with pre-formed categories. The results of the research showed that in the school textbooks of compulsory education the thematic "forest fires" is mainly presented textually, while the images are minimal. It was also found to be presented quite one-sidedly, since the vast majority of reports found focus on the negative ecological effects, while few reports were found on the causes and measures to prevent and deal with forest fires. No report was found on the scale of the problem, the social and economic ramifications and the health problems caused to people. Still, the positive role, in some cases, of forest fires in ecosystems is not clarified.
