Kindergarten teachers' locus of control and attitude towards disability

The teacher"s locus of control refers to his ability to distinguish whether the results of his actions or the situations unfolding around him are due to his efforts or are influenced by other factors. The attitude maintained by a teacher towards people with disabilities is considered particularly important, especially when working in special education structures, where institutions such as the inclusion of students with disabilities are promoted. The purpose of this research is to investigate whether the locus of control has a significant effect on the attitude of teachers towards people with disabilities. The research sample consisted of 206 Kindergarten teachers, of which 103 work in General education and the remaining 103 in Special education. The results of the research showed firstly that Kindergarten teachers" locus of control is affected by the number of their children and secondly that locus of control is a strong predictor of attitudes towards disability.
