Symmetry analysis of cross-circular and parallel-circular Raman optical activity
Raman scattering with circular polarization provides a powerful probe of symmetry and exotic orders in quantum materials, including chirality and magnetism. The authors present here a systematic symmetry analysis of cross- and parallel-circular Raman optical activities, which represent circular dichroic responses in Raman scattering. They demonstrate that these activities are intrinsically linked to chiral and axial-vector motifs of materials, thereby establishing a diagnostic framework for identifying space-time symmetries in complex quantum phases.
