Security Challenges in Healthcare Applications Utilizing Wireless Medical Sensor Networks: Review Paper
Wireless medical sensor networks can be used to examine patients in healthcare applications, which are well-considered as fascinating domains for WSN. The requirement for constant monitoring of vital bodily functions and assistance with patient mobility is alluring in hospital or extended care settings. Current studies focus on patient mobility, energy-efficient routing, and dependable communication. On the other hand, in healthcare applications it is important to address specific security concerns due to the deployment of novel knowledge, which is vital for the deployment of wireless patient monitoring devices. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) is widely developed in the healthcare domain. Currently, there are a number of applications such as endoscopic capsules, blood pressure monitors and heart rate monitors. Wireless body area networks, abbreviated to BANs, is a recent challenge that has risen due to the wide use of sensor technologies in this domain. Security and privacy concerns are significant due to the prevalence of wireless devices and their applications. The necessity for personal data collection from individuals or patients raises the risk of privacy violations, particularly as human interaction can amplify sensitivity to these issues.
