The potential of volunteer activity as a means of prevention and correction of negative emotional states in elderly women in Russia is analyzed. It is noted that the benefits of “silver age” volunteering are to create a supportive environment that promotes social integration and prevents social isola-tion. A detailed description of the methodology of the diagnostic study carried out to determine the influence of voluntary activity on the emotional state of elderly women is given. It is important to note that the results were quite mixed. The authors recognize a non-linear relationship between the subjects' participation in volunteer activities and their improved emotional state. Finally, there is a need for further research on this issue and the development of more targeted programs to support the emotional well-being of eldery women.
