The subject of the article is an analysis of the state of the doctrine and practice of electoral law in the area of creating new principles of electoral law. The starting point for the comments contained in the test is the recognition that the rules determining the method of electing state bodies are always subject to some revision. With new democratic experiences, either new elements are added within the existing rules, or even new rules are added. The latter should include the principle of free and fair elections. The principle of transparency (open) elections, the principle of election finality and the principle of competitiveness of elections are increasingly being added to the catalog of new principles.
