Disciplinary Measures Applicable to Errant Employees in Educational Organizations

This paper discusses the disciplinary measures applicable to errant employees in educational organizations. Discipline refers to the different ways a company or organization can address and correct the behaviour of employees who violate rules or perform poorly. Indiscipline among employees can be caused by inappropriate management practices, poor remuneration, poor leadership and lack of effective communication between employers and employees. Educational organizations discipline employees based on the seriousness of the problem, duration of the problem, employee’s work history. Employees can be disciplined through verbal reprimand, query, suspension, dismissal or termination. The paper suggests that educational managers should administer punishment to staff whenever they violate organizational rules.
