THE MODERN INTERPRETATION OF FAITHFULNESS, EXPRESSIVENESS AND ELEGANCE: SEMANTIC EQUIVALENCE AND STYLE RECONSTRUCTION IN CROSS-CULTURAL TRANSLATION
This article aims to deeply explore the new connotations of the "faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance" translation standard proposed by Yan Fu in contemporary cross-cultural translation practice. By analyzing the new characteristics of cultural exchange in the context of globalization and combining with specific translation cases, this paper expounds the core position of semantic equivalence in cross-cultural translation and its realization path, and dissects the importance of style reconstruction for cultural transmission and the reproduction of aesthetic value. Research indicates that modern translation should, on the basis of adhering to semantic accuracy, flexibly apply various strategies to achieve innovative transformation of style, so as to promote effective dialogue and mutual understanding among different cultures.
