Initial training of future teachers in "Classroom Management"
The success of the learning process is intertwined with the classroom smooth running. Effective classroom management is a necessary skill for teachers (Freeman, Simonsen, Briere, and MacSuga-Gage, 2013), especially new ones. This article examines the Teacher Preparation Programs of the nine (9) Pedagogical Departments of Primary Education in Greece for the initial training they offer to students on the important topic of Classroom Management. The research which conducted with the study of the curricula, shows that a specific Classroom Management course is taught in five of the nine, while in the rest some of the relative subjects are taught into other courses. The results depict a deficit in initial teacher training in classroom management. The results follow previous research abroad.
