A pilot study on the validity check of the scale «Perceived Educational Barriers» for the post-secondary education of Greek student population

This article presents the results of a pilot study conducted for the purpose of validity check of the "Perceived Educational Barriers" scale (McWhirter, Garcia and Bines, 2018) targeting Greek student population. This scale attempts to identify the factors perceived by the students as educational barriers in their training after High School. The scale, translated into Greek, was completed twice by a sample of forty-five (45) training leaving an interval of one week between the two measurements. The statistical analysis examined the consistency of the two consecutive data collection phases (test and re-test) based on the "Intraclass Correlation Coefficient" (ICC). The reliability of the scale was tested by virtue of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient. The statistical analysis results demonstrated the reliability of the scale for use in Greek High School students, encouraging future research on a wider sample of students in Greek territory.
