The commitment of specialty teachers in primary schools

One of the factors that influence and ensure the effectiveness of school organizations is the commitment which is developed by the teachers who work in them. Primary school units are staffed with general and special education teachers, most of whom serve in more than one educational organization to complete their working hours. In the present research, the degree and type of commitment developed by specialty teachers and the factors that influence it are studied. With qualitative research, data is gathered from 31 interviews of educational specialties and teachers of six primary education schools in the prefecture of Ilia and analyzed thematically. It is concluded that special education teachers show emotional professional commitment and organizational commitment of continuation. Both types of commitment are affected by several factors and mainly by serving in more than one school unit.
