The importance of the Environment and Sustainability education programms in High Schools. Teachers' opinions for the implementation of such programs in schools in Thessaloniki, Florina and Kozani.

The purpose of this study is to examine the opinions and perceptions of teachers about programs that have been implemented for the environment and sustainability. A questionnaire survey was conducted on a sample of 150 secondary school teachers teaching in high schools of Thessaloniki, Florina and Kozani and approached by convenience and snowball sampling. The research found that only in-school programs on sustainability and the environment are implemented and to a moderate extent. The programs implemented are mostly exhibitions, conferences and invitations of scientists. On the other hand, however, the teachers who participated in the survey are moderately satisfied with the environmental and sustainability programs implemented in their school.
