The research on the role of the school celebrations during the period of dictatorship as a means of ideological indoctrination
In the present research an approach is made to the role that the school celebrations and rituals possessed in the education and the way they affected the students themselves, ideologically. During the period 1967-1974, the changes in education aim to glorify the regime and to create impressions far from the reality. Through school celebrations and other rituals, the April dictatorship conveys its messages to the children and to the society by extension. To serve this purpose, it rallies symbols, pompous decorations, banning at the same time artists and stressing the merit of the phrase “country-religion-family”. Studying the circular orders of this period, it becomes obvious that the school and the educators are called to reproduce accurately all those that the regime determined without the slightest deviation.
