The present study attempts to investigate the perceptions of Higher Education students as regards the effect of social distancing, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on aspects of their student and social lives, focusing on their communication with teachers and fellow students in dealing with their academic obligations and learning processes, as well as their views on distance education. The research involved 146 Thessaly University students. The research recorded the students views on the above issues, during the period of May to June 2020, as well as how these differ in relation to their age/year of study. The research findings reveal the impact that this period of inclusion and social alienation had on the students in the Spring of 2020, and how these can serve as a starting point for further study.
