Motivation to participate in adult educator training programs

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the motivations of learners in Adult Educator Training programs. Learners of these programs do not just acquire new skills and knowledge, but in the future will be called upon to reproduce the principles and techniques of adult education, while influencing the policies, strategies and the quality of the programs they will implement. At the methodological level, the case study was adopted and for the data collection the interview technique was used, specifically the semi-structured interview in a sample of twenty (20) people, where all the interviews were personal and with open-ended questions. In terms of findings, professional development has emerged as the most important motivating factor. The trainees expect some immediate response from their participation in the program. The cost-benefit ratio seems to play a key role in their decisions, as their main purpose is to seek professional opportunities that will probably be the vehicle that will free them from professional stagnation and business deadlocks.
