Adult trainers certification: benefits and difficulties
The purpose of this research is to identify, highlight and deepen the benefits and difficulties faced by prospective adult educators in the process of certifying the educational competence of EOPEP. The study adopts a qualitative approach and utilizes the semi-structured interview. The study involved 11 subjects who have either recently received training qualification certification or are currently participating in the certification process. The findings of the survey indicate that respondents find the certification process useful and necessary. They highlight the educational, professional and financial benefits. Difficulties arise in relation to the content of the theoretical part and in particular to its quality and the need to retrieve the teaching material. They believe that the certification process will be significantly improved if EOPEPEP intervene and initiate changes on both the structure and content of the theoretical part and on the further control of the bodies implementing adult educator training programs.
