First Time Use of Vedolizumab in Pediatric Intestinal Transplant Rejection
Background: Rejection of the intestine including the colon remains a major complication leading to graft loss after transplantation. Homing of inflammatory cells is one of the main features of intestinal rejection. We postulated that Vedolizumab, that binds to α4β7 inhibiting the migration of T-lymphocytes across the endothelium, may have a role as adjunct therapy for intestinal rejection.
