OutCare Backpack: A Technological Innovation Enhancing Quality of Life for Children with Intestinal Failure and Their Caregivers
Background: Intestinal failure in children often requires home parenteral nutrition (HPN), leading to significant caregiving and emotional burdens. While quality of life is an emerging focus, few interventions offer increased autonomy for these patients and their caregivers. The OutCare backpack, a portable power station providing 8 hours of electrical autonomy, could address this need.
