Blended Homemade Diet via Gastrostomy: Improving Gastrointestinal Tolerance and Emotional Well-being in Pediatric Intestinal Failure
Background: Pediatric patients with intestinal failure often struggle with gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea and nausea, which hinder enteral feeding. A blended homemade diet via gastrostomy is proposed to improve gastrointestinal tolerance, reduce parenteral nutrition dependence, and enhance emotional well-being. This study evaluates its effects on nutritional status, symptoms, and the psychosocial aspects of patients and their families.
