Establishing an Intestinal Failure Unit: Lessons from a National Centre
Background: In January 2024, the Karolinska University Hospital established one of two national units to care for adults with long-term (>3 months) intestinal failure (IF). There was scant guidance on the structures, processes and quality measures needed to provide high-quality IF care. Lessons after one year are presented.
