CELL TURNOVER AND DONOR-SPECIFIC ANTIBODY DYNAMICS IN AN EXPERIMENTAL MODEL OF INTESTINAL TRANSPLANTATION
Background: Graft rejection remains a major challenge in intestinal transplantation (IT). Peyer’s patches (PP) contribute to the early allogenic immune response facilitating T and B cell activation and triggering acute rejection (AR). While immunosuppressants prevent AR, their impact in cell turnover has been partially characterized. Our objective was to analyze donor/recipient lymphocyte turnover in the early post-transplant evaluating the impact of immunosuppressive treatment and the dynamics of donor-specific antibodies (DSAs).
