Enhancing nutrition: a single-center experience with an in-line digestive cartridge in pediatric short bowel syndrome
Background: Fat malabsorption in short bowel syndrome (SBS) can lead to feeding intolerance and dependence on parenteral nutrition (PN). Immobilized lipase cartridge (ILC) is an FDA-approved in-line digestive cartridge designed to hydrolyze fat in enteral nutrition (EN), allowing for the delivery of absorbable fats through continuous or bolus feeds. Our study aims to evaluate the efficacy of ILC in pediatric patients with SBS.
