Comparison of CLABSI rates between two techniques in central venous catheter management for children with intestinal failure on home PN
Background: Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) are potentially life-threatening complications in children with intestinal failure (IF). This audit examines CLABSI rates in children on home parenteral nutrition (HPN) before and after the implementation of the Sterile Technique (ST), replacing the previous Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT), used by caregivers for the management of central venous catheters (CVC).
