Photoresponsive azomethine-carbazole PMMA film for full-color holography
Abstract Previously reported azo-carbazole dyes exhibit absorption in the 410–440 nm range and isosbestic points between 482 and 555 nm, enabling reconstruction of red, green, and yellow holographic images. However, a blue hologram readout has not been realized. In this study, we report the synthesis, characterization of a novel carbazole-based azomethine dye, (E)-[(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)methylideneamino]-2-amino-1,2-dicyanoethane (CICzEM), which exhibits a maximum absorption at 395 nm and an isosbestic point at 450 nm. When embedded in a polymethyl methacrylate matrix, CICzEM retained its optical properties and allowed for successful blue-region readout, demonstrating its potential for full-color holography.
