THE HOLISTIC MODEL OF HEALTH AS A CONCEPTUAL BASIS FOR SHAPING THE LIFE SPACE OF A CHILD IN THE CONTEXT OF FULL-SCALE WAR

The article explores the philosophical foundations of the holistic model of health as a conceptual basis for shaping the life space of a child in the context of full-scale war.It analyzes the role of values and environment in maintaining the integrity of the child’s personality. Phenomenological and axiological aspects of the formation of a child’s life space are highlighted. The emphasis is placed on the necessity of integrating holistic approaches into social policy, education, and psychological support for children. The author proposes a comprehensive approach to understanding child development, in which health is viewed both as an ontological prerequisite and a result of the child’s interaction with the surrounding world. The article reveals the concept of a child’s life space as a philosophical category encompassing not only physical surroundings, but also the emotional, social, cognitive, and symbolic dimensions of their experience. The author argues that the child’s space is not formed by external circumstances alone, but through active interaction with the environment, during which the child not only adapts to reality but also transforms it according to their own needs, values, and meanings. In this context, health plays a dual role - as a precondition for effective interaction with the world and as its outcome. This assertion is central to the philosophy of health, which goes beyond normative medicine and places the holistic human being – with their bodily, emotional, and spiritual needs – at the center.Methodologically, the study is grounded in an interdisciplinary synthesis of existential philosophy, phenomenology, humanistic philosophy and psychology, as well as contemporary approaches to health pedagogy, psychosocial development, spatial anthropology, and the philosophy of childhood. Through the lens of these concepts, the author proposes a rethinking of the roles of adults, institutions, and social structures in creating a favorable life space for the child.Special attention is given to the practical dimension of the issue: an analysis of the roles of the family, educational institutions, and the community as environments in which the child’s life space is shaped. The author demonstrates that only a coordinated interaction among these three components can ensure the full realization of the holistic approach. The family is viewed as the primary source of the child’s bodily-emotional experience, the school – as a socio-cultural environment for self-development, and the community – as a space of social inclusion and belonging.
