Use of Iohexol-binergia in small companion animals for contrast-enhanced myelography

The study examined the safety and diagnostic efficacy of the contrast agent Iogexol-Binergia in myelography in dogs and cats with spinal cord injuries. Eight animals (8 dogs and 4 cats) participated in the work. All patients were under constant monitoring of vital functions, hematological and biochemical blood parameters were monitored. The results demonstrated good tolerability of the drug. Hematological and biochemical parameters during the study period confirm that no deviations from the norm of blood and serum parameters were observed in animals from the study groups before myelography, as well as on the first, second and fifth days after the study. Also, during the observation period, there was no deterioration in the general clinical condition. During the observation period, no significant deviations in the tests or clinical symptoms were recorded. The diagnostic value is confirmed by clinical cases: clear images of spinal pathologies, including fractures and spinal cord compression, were obtained. The study showed that Iogexol-Binergia® is a safe and informative contrast agent for diagnosing spinal cord injuries in small domestic animals, which is important for choosing the optimal treatment tactics.
