Effect of genetically engineered insulin on protein metabolism of rats with diabetic nephropathy
The aim of the study was to establish the effect of genetically engineered insulin VINSUVET Glargine ANIMALPEN on protein metabolism in rats with diabetic nephropathy. The work shows that in Wistar rats (n=96) with diabetic nephropathy, protein metabolism disorders are reliably manifested by azotemia, hypoalbuminemia, albuminuria, proteinuria and decreased body weight. Obvious pathogenetic links in protein metabolism disorders are uncompensated hyperglycemia, intensification of the glycosylation process and an increase in the content of their end products, activation of the immune system and increased formation of proinflammatory cytokines, as well as an increase in the intensity of free radical oxidation. The use of genetically engineered insulin VINSUVET Glargine ANIMALPEN in rats with diabetic nephropathy, at a dose of 0,5 IU/kg body weight per day, helps compensate for carbohydrate metabolism, plays a key role in preventing the development and slowing the progression of azotemia, hypoalbuminemia, albuminuria, proteinuria and weight loss.
