Manual de Boas Práticas em ERPI: Referenciais para um Cuidado Humanizado e Centrado na Pessoa
Demographic aging in Portugal is an undeniable reality, positioning the country as the fourth most aged nation in the European Union. This scenario presents significant challenges for Residential Care Facilities for Older Adults, particularly regarding the quality of care provided and the residents’ adaptation to the institutional environment. These facilities are responsible for ensuring residents’ well-being, dignity, autonomy, and privacy, making implementing and adhering to best practices by professionals essential. This article presents the development of a Best Practices Manual designed as a technical support tool for residential care staff. The Manual emphasizes the importance of continuous professional training and qualification, ensuring excellence in care provision and promoting dignified and humanized aging.
