Induction Of Labour And Self Efficacy – Part 3: Recommendations
The third and final article in a series, discussing how induction of labour (IOL) affects women’s self efficacy (SE) to birth from a global and United Kingdom (UK) perspective, this report acts as a summary and introduces recommendations for improving quality and safety of care, the identification of research opportunities, the cementing of self-efficacy theory in IOL research and the development of maternity care policy and guidelines. Strong themes identified included women’s health literacy and a lack of clear and concise communication from health care professionals, and the importance of auditing and measuring IOL experiences verses clinical outcomes.
