Hybrid Model Predictive Control with Current Ripple Reduction for Three-Level T-Type Inverters
This paper proposes a hybrid model predictive control (HMPC) for three-level T-type inverters. The HMPC has the advantages of the finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) and the continuous control set model predictive control (CCS-MPC). The HMPC intuitively selects the optimal voltage vector (VV) based on cost function in each control cycle, like the FCS-MPC. Then, the optimal VVs of two consecutive cycles are combined to a obtain a time-continuous hybrid VV, which can reduce the current ripple as in the CCSMPC. To reduce the computational burden and avoid tedious adjustment of the weighting factors, the HMPC adopts a singleobjective cost function. The capacitor voltages are balanced by small VVs. Finally, the simulation results verify the feasibility of the proposed HMPC.
