A Novel Model Predictive Control Strategy for Three-Level Active Neutral Point Clamped Inverter with Partial-Derivative Cost Function
The grid-connected three-level inverters based on model predictive control holds tremendous significance in microgrids. Although the finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) method has been widely used for three-level inverters, its practical implementation faces key challenges due to the inherent computational complexity. Traditional FCS-MPC brings large computational burdens, which adversely affect the performance of real-time controllers and hinder its applicability in power conversion systems with high switching frequency. To address this issue, an improved model predictive control strategy is proposed to eliminate voltage in the cost function by differentiating and reducing the number of cycles. Finally, the simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, the computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm is increased by about 30 %.
