A Novel Virtual Space Vector Modulation-Based Predictive Current Control for Dual Three-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine
Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines (DTP-PMSMs) have garnered significant interest owing to their superior efficiency and enhanced reliability, along with the added advantage of inherent redundancy. However, the conventional virtual-voltage-vector-based predictive current control (VVV-PCC) for DTP-PMSM suffers from significant current harmonics, intensive computational demands, and intricate hardware implementation. To address those challenges, this paper presents a novel virtual space vector modulationbased PCC (VSVM-PCC) for DTP-PMSM. Therein, twentyfour VVVs, categorized into three distinct groups, are generated using inherent voltage vectors (VVs). A centrally symmetric pulse pattern, comprising two VVVs and two zero VVs with optimized duty cycles, is proposed and executed each sampling interval to improve the steady-state performance and simplify the hardware implementation. The determination of the optimal VVs and their optimal duty cycles are simplified through the integration of deadbeat control and SVM technique. Extensive comparative studies demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed VSVM-PCC scheme.
