Implementation of Model Predictive Control for High-Speed PMSM Under Low Switching-to-Fundamental Frequency Ratio
High-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors (HSPMSMs) operating at a low switching-to-fundamental frequency ratio (SFFR) often experience degraded dynamic performance. In response to the performance limitations of HSPMSMs under low SFFR, this paper proposes a circular boundary constrained model predictive control (MPC) method. By constraining the maximum distortion of stator current, the proposed method maintains high dynamic performance while reducing torque ripple and switching loss. The application of circular boundary constrained MPC to the control of HSPMSMs under low SFFR provides a novel approach for enhancing control accuracy. Testing results at low SFFR validate the effectiveness of the proposed MPC method implemented on HSPMSM.
