Authentication Based Biometric Watermarking
With the rapid growth of technology, securing sensitive user data has become a major challenge.Biometric authentication, which relies on unique traits like fingerprints and iris patterns, offers greater accuracy than traditional methods such as passwords or tokens, but protecting biometric data is crucial since compromised traits cannot be reissued. To address this, a lossless zero-bit watermarking technique is proposed for biometric image security.Unlike conventional methods (DCT, DWT, SVD) that may degrade image quality, this approach embeds a fingerprint watermark into an iris image without distorting its original features, ensuring recognition accuracy.A unique encrypted identifier, termed the master share, is generated by integrating iris and fingerprint data and later compared with the database during authentication for secure verification.Experimental results, validated using PSNR () and BER, show that the method is distortion-free, robust against attacks, and ensures uniqueness, efficiency, and reliability in biometric authentication.
