Visible-light-induced stereoselective trifluoromethylselenolation of arylalkenyl iodides with [Me4N][SeCF3]

The photocatalytic stereoselective trifluoromethylselenolation of <i>E</i>-arylalkenyl iodides with [Me4N][SeCF3] is described under different conditions. These reactions enabled the first controllable synthesis of arylalkenyl trifluoromethyl selenoethers in good yields and with high <i>E</i>- or <i>Z</i>-selectivity.
