IDEAS, VISUAL SOLUTIONS AND THE CONCEPT OF THE UPDATED MAIN EXHIBITION OF THE DNIPRO ART MUSEUM

The article explores the process of transforming the main exhibition of the Dnipro Art Museum as a key element of the visual identity of a cultural institution.Museum exhibition, as a cultural phenomenon, has undergone significant changes over the past decades -from a traditional model focused on linear historical and chronological presentation to a format of contemporary visual communication based on the principles of storytelling, interpretation, and interdisciplinary dialogue. In this paradigm, the renewal of the main exhibition is considered not only a technical or aesthetic rethinking of museum space, but also a comprehensive strategy for representing the collection and shaping the museum's public image. The research problem addressed in the study is the need to assess the effectiveness of new exhibition practices within the context of Ukrainian museums, which operate under limited resources, martial law, and the absence of a consistent cultural policy. At the same time, tasks such as decolonizing museum spaces, rethinking Soviet heritage, and finding relevant forms of audience engagement are gaining particular importance. The purpose of the article is to analyze the concept and implementation of the updated main exhibition of the Dnipro Art Museum in the period 2018-2021 as an example of visual-communicative transformation. The research draws on contemporary methodologies of museum interpretation, practices of leading European museums, and the author's direct experience in exhibition development. The study identifies and analyzes the core structural, conceptual, and visual solutions that underpin the updated exhibition, and defines its role in shaping the museum's contemporary public image. It highlights the use of storytelling, the importance of color and spatial design elements, multimedia communication, and a personalized approach to historical narrative through the figures of artists, collectors, and museum professionals. The article demonstrates how, under conditions of limited financial and human resources, the museum team succeeded in creating a visually coherent, conceptually grounded, and communicatively effective exhibition -a meaningful component of the institution's visual identity. The significance of this experience is emphasized in the broader context of the development of contemporary Ukrainian museology.
