Biosurfactant Mediated Silver Nanoparticle (AgNPs) and its Antimicrobial Activity against Bacterial Plant Pathogen

Biosurfactant are surface active, amphiphilic molecule produced by microorganism such as bacteria, fungi and yeast.Biosurfactant contains polar and nonpolar domains which reduces surface tension and interfacial tension of aqueous solution and hydrocarbon mixture by aggregating at the interface of hydrophobic substances. The silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) display characteristics such as nontoxicity, biocompatibility, and significant antibacterial activity. The current study concentrated on exploiting biosurfactants produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain to synthesis AgNPs using a biochemical technique. To create aqueous AgNO3 and sodium borohydride microemulsions, a reverse micelle technique was used.Such microemulsions were combined to produce an AgNPs solution.AgNPs exhibit absorption at 420 nm and were identified by their distinctive spectra using a UV-visible spectrophotometer.X-ray crystallography and scanning electron microscopy was used for further characterisation.Antimicrobial activity of the biosurfactant-based AgNPs was investigated against plant pathogens such Xanthomonas axonopodis, Xanthomonas campestris, Ralstonia solanacearum, and Erwinia cartovora
