Large Uterine Leiomyoma Mimicking Endometrial Carcinoma: A Case Report
Postmenopausal bleeding is a significant clinical presentation that often warrants the exclusion of malignancy. This report discusses the case of a 50-year-old postmenopausal woman presenting with severe anemia, heavy vaginal bleeding, and lower abdominal pain, initially suspected of having endometrial carcinoma.Comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, including imaging and histopathology, revealed a large uterine leiomyoma with central cystic degeneration. This case underscores the diagnostic challenges of differentiating benign leiomyomas from malignancy and highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for accurate diagnosis and management.
