Gaya Hidup dan Kejadian Hipertensi pada Usia Produktif

ABSTRACT Hypertension is a disease with a prevalence that continues to increase each year. This condition of high blood pressure can increase the risk of serious complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. According to WHO data, hypertension is one of the leading causes of premature death worldwide. This study aims to explore the relationship between lifestyle and the occurrence of hypertension in the working-age population in the coastal area of Kolono Timur, South Konawe District, in 2023. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytic design. Data was collected through questionnaires administered to sample respondents, covering variables related to smoking behavior, as well as secondary data from relevant institutions. The results of the study show a significant relationship between lifestyle and the occurrence of hypertension in the productive age group. Individuals with low physical activity have a 6.78 times higher risk of developing hypertension compared to those who are physically active. Productive age smokers have a 6.36 times higher risk of hypertension compared to non-smokers, while those who regularly consume excess salt have a 6.98 times higher risk compared to those who consume salt in moderate amounts. Keywords: Lifestyle, Hypertension, Productive Age. ABSTRAK Hipertensi adalah penyakit dengan prevalensi yang terus meningkat setiap tahun.
