THE IMPACT OF ENERGY SECURITY ON THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF REGIONS

This article is aimed at studying the impact of energy security on the energy efficiency of regions through the construction of economic and mathematical models. Integral indicators of energy efficiency were considered for modeling. The data were collected for the regions of the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan for 2020. Regression analysis was used as a methodological tool. As a result of the analysis, the following independent variables were selected: investments in energysaving technologies, the volume of electricity consumption and the level of technological modernization. In the course of the study, it was revealed that an increase in investments in energysaving technologies and the level of technological modernization contributes to an increase in energy efficiency. The results obtained can be integrated into models aimed at rationalizing energy consumption processes, as well as for the development of regional energy strategies in the field of improving regional energy security.
