Comparison of the penetration of three fire retardants into softwood andhardwood by short-term immersion impregnation
<ns3:p>Comparison of the penetration of three fire retardants into softwood and hardwood using short-termimmersion impregnation. Fire retardant impregnation is used to improve the properties of wood, includingobtaining Class B reaction to fire. According to the literature reports presented in the article, the most effectivemethod of applying the impregnation is the pressure method. However, in construction practice, the mostcommon and quick method is to briefly bathe wooden elements in impregnation. As part of the POIR.01.01.01-00-0076/21 project, research was carried out comparing the penetration of commercially available fire retardantsinto poplar and white pine wood. As a result of the research, it turned out that it is very difficult to obtain theapplication of fire retardants recommended by the manufacturers using the surface method.</ns3:p>
