The thermodynamical implications of ideal gases and harmonic oscillators due to momentum cutoff

In this work, we discuss about the new generalization of Heisenberg algebra. The thermodynamic properties of two model systems, ideal gases and harmonic oscillator are studied based on this algebra that predicts a momentum cutoff. Modified partition function, mean energy, entropy, and specific heat for the two model systems are obtained. We also estimate the value of the isotropic minimal length scale in the new algebra.

Abstract

In this work, we discuss about the new generalization of Heisenberg algebra. The thermodynamic properties of two model systems, ideal gases and harmonic oscillator are studied based on this algebra that predicts a momentum cutoff. Modified partition function, mean energy, entropy, and specific heat for the two model systems are obtained. We also estimate the value of the isotropic minimal length scale in the new algebra.
