A importância da educação financeira para empresários

This article analyzes the importance of financial education for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, highlighting its relevance as a strategic management tool. Although these entrepreneurs often have extensive technical knowledge in their fields, many lack adequate financial preparation, which compromises the survival and growth of their businesses. The study aimed to demonstrate how financial education contributes to business consolidation by identifying common management mistakes and discussing the relationship between financial planning and organizational longevity. The research was qualitative, applied in nature, with an exploratory and descriptive approach, based on bibliographic and documentary review. The results indicated that the most frequent failures in small and medium-sized enterprises are related to the lack of cash flow control, incorrect pricing, confusion between personal and business finances, and the absence of strategic reserves. On the other hand, it was observed that entrepreneurs who adopt financial planning practices show greater resilience to economic crises and a stronger capacity for expansion. It is concluded that financial education is essential to ensure business sustainability and must be incorporated as a core competence in the training and practice of managers.
