EDUCAÇÃO FINANCEIRA COMO FERRAMENTA DE PROTEÇÃO SOCIAL PARA IMIGRANTES BRASILEIROS NOS ESTADOS UNIDOS: PREVENÇÃO, AUTONOMIA E SEGURANÇA EM TEMPOS DE CRISE
Financial education is an essential pillar for the stability and autonomy of Brazilian immigrants living in the United States, especially in the absence of public policies to support them during emergencies. This article aims to analyze the impact of the lack of financial planning in the lives of immigrants, highlighting problems such as eviction due to default, loss of financed vehicles, lack of savings for medical emergencies, and dependence on public fundraising to cover basic needs. Through a qualitative approach based on bibliographic review and documentary analysis of public crowdfunding campaigns, the study shows that financial fragility stems from both technical ignorance and entrenched behavioral patterns. The findings suggest that financial education should not be seen merely as a budgeting technique, but as a tool for social and emotional protection in contexts of vulnerability. The study proposes the dissemination of accessible financial content for the immigrant community as a way to promote autonomy and dignity.
