Data Transmission Optimization Scheme In Tele-robotic Surgery
Remote robotic surgery is an important research direction in medical practice. This type of surgery is not widely used in practice, the main reason for this problem is unreliable and delayed data transmission. In order to solve this issue, a high-reliability and low-latency solution based on data transmission chain is designed. This solution includes an optimized data replication strategy on the appliance side, data compression, encryption and marking algorithms, and a multipath parallel transfer algorithm. Later on, simulation tests were conducted on Nvidia's Tx2 embedded device and the Alibaba Cloud platform. The experimental results illustrated the key factors influencing the overall latency and verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Capturing 1080p raw data at 30 frames per second, the latency of parallel transaction processing is 4.76% to 16.25% of serial processing, and the latency is reduced by 5 to 8 milliseconds for each reduction in in-memory data copying. When the same data blocks are transmitted multiple times, the compression ratio of the dynamic data association algorithm is directly proportional to the number of transmissions. Transferring data in a multi-channel cloud platform, the solution selects the fastest link to work.
