Relationship between Burnout Syndrome and Work Motivation in the Employees of the Three Headquarters of Colegio Unión Latino, Huancayo
The World Health Organisation recognised burnout syndrome as an occupational disease, especially in high-demand jobs such as teaching. This syndrome, characterised by emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation and diminished self-fulfilment, negatively affects the health and motivation of professionals. In this context, the present study explores the relationship between burnout syndrome in its three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation and personal fulfilment) and work motivation at the ‘Unión Latino’ school in Huancayo. Using a 37-question questionnaire validated by experts and applied to 70 teachers, the data were analysed with SPSS software to determine the significance of the relationships, and reliability was verified with Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The results revealed that, of the three dimensions of burnout, emotional exhaustion has the most significant relationship with work motivation, indicating that high levels of burnout reduce motivation and negatively affect relationships with colleagues and students, as well as the achievement of educational goals. Based on these findings, strategies were developed to improve working conditions and mitigate the impact of burnout in the educational environment.
